At Audax Ventus, we believe that education is most powerful when it’s alive—when it breathes salt air, carries the sound of whales, and includes the voices of those closest to the land and sea.
Our immersive outreach programs are designed to break down the walls between knowledge and experience. Whether aboard our sailing vessel or through a virtual headset halfway across the world, we invite students, educators, and families to join us in real-time discovery. This is not about telling people what to think—it’s about giving them something real to think with.
Ship-based educational experiences for students and educators
Our vessel doubles as a classroom, where the curriculum is written by the wind, the water, and the people we meet along the way. Through Sailing Schools, we host immersive programs for small groups of students and educators—offering hands-on learning in environmental science, marine biology, cultural storytelling, and ethical field practice. It’s learning that leaves the dock behind.
Virtual fieldwork for children
Not every student can come aboard—but they can still journey with us. In partnership with The Chariot Program at Stanford Children’s Hospital, The VR Horizon Project brings immersive, 360° field experiences to pediatric care centers and remote classrooms. These virtual voyages feature wildlife encounters, interviews with Indigenous knowledge keepers, and real-time expedition moments designed to spark wonder and imagination—especially in children facing long hospital stays and in remote areas.
Livestream and real-time dispatches from ecological hotspots
Floating Frontlines connects our audiences directly to the places and moments that matter most. Whether we’re documenting a coral spawning event, witnessing wildlife migration, or listening to community voices during a climate crisis, we broadcast select field events live to schools, libraries, and public institutions around the world. Sometimes, seeing a moment unfold is the most powerful lesson of all.
These programs are grounded in collaboration—with teachers, cultural leaders, and knowledge holders—and built to serve not just the next generation of scientists, but of citizens, storytellers, and stewards.
