All Hands Welcome

Where the Wind is Bold and the Mission is Shared

Whether you join us as a deckhand, documentarian, researcher, educator, fellow, or Explorer-in-Residence—you’re not just coming aboard a vessel. You’re joining a living experiment in ethical exploration, collaborative learning, and environmental justice.

Audax Ventus is a voluntary, nonprofit expedition platform powered by people who believe in the urgency of this moment and the strength of collective action. Our sailing vessel is both home and field station—a place for curiosity, contribution, and care.

Here, exploration isn’t about conquest. It’s about listening, witnessing, and carrying forward stories, science, and knowledge that matter—before they’re lost.

Life Onboard

Immersive. Intentional. Collaborative.

Every person aboard shares responsibility for vessel operations, navigation, and field projects—from documentary filmmaking to cultural research to sustainable innovation. Some days you’ll be hoisting sails or tracking seabirds; others, you might be recording an oral history or monitoring underwater ecosystems.

We balance structure with spontaneity, discipline with wonder—and always make space for joy, adventure, and the passions that brought you here.

Program Pathways

  • Storytelling & Documentation
Photography, film, and field audio that amplify ecological truths and frontline voices.

  • Cultural & Ecological Research
Species tracking, community collaboration, and reciprocal knowledge-sharing.

  • Education & Immersive Outreach
VR storytelling, live broadcasts, and open-access learning for schools and hospitals.

  • Expeditions & Exploration
Sailing, navigation, and remote field operations rooted in low-impact travel.

  • Environmental Justice & Quiet Support
Discreet documentation and logistics for sensitive conservation missions.

  • Explorers-in-Residence
Mentorship, innovation, and leadership from seasoned professionals across disciplines.

Work Beside Us, Sail With Purpose

Hands-on, heart-first.
This isn’t a cruise—it’s a commitment.

As a Collaborating Crew Member aboard Audax Ventus, you’re not a passenger. You’re part of the living, working engine that drives our mission forward—day and night, wave by wave.

You’ll be immersed in every facet of expedition life for a minimum of three months. Depending on your skills and interests, your days might include:

  • Sailing, navigation, and vessel maintenance
  • Supporting scientific research and field sampling
  • Documenting stories through photography, video, or audio recording
  • Assisting with community liaison and outreach
  • Provisioning and day-to-day logistics
  • Wildlife observation and data entry

You don’t need to come aboard as an expert. What matters most is initiative, adaptability, and respect—for the sea, for the science, and for the communities we work alongside.

From midnight watch rotations to dawn wildlife surveys, from cutting field footage to hoisting sails, you’ll share the work, the learning, and the responsibility of our mission.

This is where exploration meets purpose.

One shared task, one watch, one bold voyage at a time.
